POLICE in Manicaland province have appealed to the public for help in identifying a man whose body was recovered from the Honde River on Monday.

The discovery was made by a local villager crossing the swollen river near Museve village.

Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, the acting provincial police spokesperson, said the man showed no visible signs of injury, suggesting he had drowned.

The body, which was in an early state of decomposition, was retrieved by villagers after being alerted by the finder. It has since been taken to the mortuary at Hauna District Hospital.

Authorities are urging anyone with missing male relatives in the Honde Valley area to contact Ruda police station.

The identity of the deceased, and the circumstances that led to his being in the flooded river, remain unknown.
