High Court rejects bid by sacked DANet official

Reverend Apostle Dr Obadiah Musindo

A HIGH Court judge has dismissed an urgent bid by Destiny of Afrika Network (DANet) former Manicaland projects manager Wilson Masokovere to hold onto his post, upholding his dismissal for misconduct and clearing the way for his immediate removal from the organisation’s premises.

Justice Jacob Manzunzu, ruling in chambers, struck the application by Masokovere off the roll with an order to pay punitive costs.

The court found that Masokovere’s attempt to block the execution of an earlier judgment—which had already confirmed his firing—lacked urgency.

The ruling paves the way for the Sheriff of the High Court to eject Masokovere from the offices of DANet in Manicaland and prohibits him from interfering in the organisation’s activities.

He was also ordered to cover the legal expenses of Reverend Apostle Dr Obadiah Msindo, Danet’s founder and president, who had launched proceedings to retake control of the project.

Once political allies, the relationship between the two men soured amid allegations of financial impropriety.

Rev Dr Musindo accused Masokovere of insubordination after he allegedly blocked a forensic audit into claims of fraud and misappropriation of funds.
