Manicaland provincial minister has emerged as one of the top-performing devolution chiefs in the latest government rankings, prompting him to shower praises to both his superiors and his support staff.

Advocate Misheck Mugadza, the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Manicaland, was named the second-best performing minister in President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s provincial co-ordination team.

The recognition places him behind only Minister Ezra Chadzamira of Masvingo with Minister Owen Ncube of Midlands coming third.

In a statement reflecting the collaborative ethos of the administration, Minister Mugadza expressed gratitude to the President for the honour, while taking care to highlight the collective effort behind the achievement.

He extended particular praise to Manicaland’s Permanent Secretary Abiot Maronge, who secured third place among the country’s top-performing provincial permanent secretaries.

The minister offered a granular breakdown of the team effort, thanking an array of provincial officials including directors, deputy directors, departmental heads, his public relations unit and personal assistant.

“Your dedication makes everything possible,” he said, in remarks that underscored the administrative machinery underpinning the government’s devolution agenda.

The recognition forms part of broader efforts to institutionalise performance metrics within Zimbabwe’s provincial governance structures, with Minister Mugadza pledging to continue serving “with commitment, efficiency, and passion.”
